Back to school | Don't forget to remember yourself

Retour à l'école | N'oublie pas de ne pas t'oublier

Going back to school means mixed feelings of relief at finally getting back to your normal routine and anxiety about running around trying to accomplish your normal routine.

If you are a mother, student, teacher, educator or simply human, you will certainly recognize yourself in my words.

We often forget ourselves, between work, studies, household chores, children, spouse, the neighbor's dog and cat: but it would be important for the captain of this beautiful ship to take a little time, so that it continues to sail so smoothly .

Give yourself the right to live your emotions:

You have 100% every right to be relieved that your kids are going back to school and no longer need to entertain them with 20 activities per hour.
You have every right to be more exhausted after your vacation than before.
You have every right to be anxious about all this newness that is coming at the same time as the September cold.

Take time for yourself, every day: Easier said than done, you might say? I know.

Set small, simple daily self-care goals that are easy to achieve:

Do you want to make a moisturizing mask while you study?
Doing your nails while you help the kids do their homework?
Window shopping online because you know as well as I do that you're too tired to complete a transaction?

Opt for simplicity and efficiency

To hell with complicated meals, uncomfortable clothes and never-ending daily routines.

Your hair is a little greasy but you don't have time to wash it and (most importantly), you don't want to go to bed with a wet head? 2 words: dry shampoo.

Congratulate yourself every day

Everyone deserves a pat on the back for their good deeds, but when was the last time someone said thank you, honestly, to you?

I want to tell you that you are superwoman, all the time, even when things are not going well. And if no one has told you today: you are beautiful, you are strong and you are more than enough. Be gentle with yourself!
